Peter Thiel loses weight overnight and is losing it all
Peter Thiel lost 10 pounds this week, but his weight is getting back to normal, the co-founder of PayPal said in an interview with CNNMoney.
He lost about 10 pounds in a week.
Thiel, who has been a controversial figure in the tech community, had been a heavy smoker since the age of 14 and quit smoking nearly a decade ago.
His new weight loss will probably boost his visibility and the amount of attention he gets, said Peter Thiel, co-Founder and CEO of PayPal.
Thiel’s new weight has been the result of a “significant change in my diet, especially over the last several months,” Thiel said.
He said he has noticed that he is eating more, eating healthier and exercising more.
Thiel is one of the wealthiest men in Silicon Valley and has built PayPal into one of Silicon Valley’s most valuable companies.
He said he was able to get rid of the weight because he “made sacrifices” in the past, including getting rid of his addiction to alcohol.
Thai businessman Pramod Mahapatra, who is known for his philanthropic efforts, weighed about 120 pounds and quit drinking in 2013, said Thiel.
Mahapati was able, he said, to lose weight through a combination of diet, exercise and eating more healthy food.
Thi said that his weight loss has been “pretty spectacular” and he now weighs in at about 170 pounds.
Thiele said he will have his own weight-loss company called MyLifestyle, which he hopes to launch in 2018.
He hopes to hire a team of “experts and doctors” to help him develop and scale the business.
“I’m just really excited about the opportunity to create a new industry, and that’s the best thing to happen to me in my life,” Thiel told CNNMoney’s Erin Burnett.
Thies weight loss came after months of dieting and weight loss surgery, including a gastric bypass, to help prevent further weight gain, he told CNN.
He also said that he would like to lose a few more pounds this year.
“I think I’ll be fine,” he said.
“You know, I’ve lost about 25 pounds this month.
But it’s a lot of hard work.”
